The Indian Cricket Board has announced a “prize money” of Rs 1.25 crore for curators and gardeners at the six venues that hosted the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The announcement of the ground staff bonus payment was made by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah in a tweet on Monday.
In his tweet, Shah called them the unsung heroes and the men who gave the best plays in IPL 2022.
“I am happy to announce a cash prize of INR 1.25 crore for the men who gave us the best games of #TATAIPL 2022. The Unsung Heroes – our Conservators and Gardeners across 6 IPL venues this season,” wrote Jay Shah in his tweet.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic protocols, the group stage of IPL 2022 was held at four venues: Brabourne and Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium ( MCA) in Pune, who shared 70 matches between them. Playoff matches were held at Gardens of Eden, Kolkata and Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with both hosting two matches each.

“We saw high octane matches and I want to thank each and every one of them for their hard work. 25 lacs each for CCI, Wankhede, DY Patil and MCA, Pune 12.5 lacs each for Eden and Narendra Modi Stadium,” Shah wrote.
